    The Winslow Township Fire Department, which covers fifty-seven square miles, was created in 1989 to provide fire protection for the residents of Winslow Township.  The district is operated by five elected commissioners and provides funding for seven fire stations.   Commissioners are elected and the budget is voted upon every February.

    The district now has a fulltime chief to oversee the operation of the firefighting services, an evening duty crew that operates between the hours of 6 PM and Midnight each night, and a fulltime career staff that is on duty from 6 AM to 6 PM each weekday.

    The department is always looking for volunteers and area residents over the age of 18 can join.  Just stop by the district office any weekday..
